Hello,It all started on the date above with a little poem I sent to people more at less at random from the most recently pulished list:

For what it's worth
I just gave birth
To cyber graf-fi-ti

But the poemster poems
He don't write tomes
And he's on a poeming spree

Twenty seconds lent
Is time well spent
And this one is for free

the_poemster

Most people followed the link to the poeming FAQ which was more of my silliness explaining what do do if you've been "poemed".
A few people chose to send back a poem as suggested by the FAQ
and then I replied to the poem they sent.Personal service in an impersonal world.I wasn't "on the phone or away from my desk" like 90% of the planet. What this section is is the actual account of what transpired it may or may not impart the love, understanding
and friendship that has developed amongst the remaining people. Some things I am beginning to feel are better off just appreciated and not so much analyzed.Anyway it a wild dynamic that I can't explain.

I'm quite confused,
even bemused
that you have poemed me.
But I must say
you have a way
of sparking a writer's glee.

Press on, press on,
continue thus
until your words are spent,
and I will wonder why you came
and where the heck you went.

From critique I'll not run

It's more important to say
I'm glad you came by today
I feel there are things I can learn
If you would choose to return

Thanks Mike.As a non-rhyming response
I've been sending out poems to about half males and half females
And I'm happy to hear from you.I was beginning to think it was just me and Dr. Suess(and now he's gone)

I don't always have the time

So I just want to tell you a quick story that happened the other night. My wife was going to see my sister and that meant I would have to put My 7 and 2 year old to bed.So now it's bedtime and they want to read a story.Tommy, who is trying to hone his reading skills decides he will read "A fly went by".We are sitting on the bed and Caroline is paging quickly through a Sesame Street book.Tommy starts "A fly went by" and Caroline blurts out in a squeeking little voice I can't describe "and kicks you in the ass, THE END" She has a good grasp on reality at such an early age,I am really impressed with her.Needless to say we didn't finish the book.

MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE
Since it is my anniversary,I'd like to say something about divorce since I know of another guy who's wife has filed for divorce. This makes 6 men that I know that this has happened to.I always make it a point to ask if they knew it was coming and to a man they were all surprised, shocked.I always press and ask,"come on you had some idea" but they so,"no really, I didn't know.

This tells me something about these guys. There is something wrong with this picture.I won't analyze each relationship because I surely don't know what happened. But I know they were blind.

My 11th Anniversary is today. Now, as for me I can honestly say that from the night I got married till now I would never have been surprised if I was served papers.Although it probably would have been less likely to happen on holidays and weekends.I am a sensitive guy and I have a full understanding that there may be one or to two things that I do that may annoy my wife. What I try to do is constantly change these things so as to add a little variety into the relationship.Right now I know what the two things are and one of them is this.True story.

So I say to all bloggers who poem all their song
Do it for you and you'll never go wrong

Not at all off the shelf

I wanted something that I could keep lite
Rhyme it for interest
And some fellow bloggers invite

So far it's been easy, not very hard
The responses have been beautiful
And validating for this bard

Thank you to everyone who has responded for their response and returning it in the spirit in which it was intended and for not having a bug up your ass like some of the people who's blogs I have stumbled across in my quest and for taking a chance and lastly just for being people who are interesting and caring and inciteful and busy living your own lives not bothering anyone even though I'm sure you could if you wanted to.I can't help but believe if more people were like all of you the world would be a much calmer place.
Disclaimer:
I am under no false impression that I am actually a "bard" but it rhymes with hard very nicely.I'm probably more of a jester or bard in training.
I also am sure there was a misuse of the word nitch instead of niche and there is no excuse for that.

It looks as if there is roughly a 10% response rate that results from being poemed.I do notice an extremely high proficiancy rate in computer skills within this 10%.I was happy just to be able to get my links up.Then Anna Banana sends this "java script codey thingy" and that threw me off.I put the link up and it didn't work.I went back in and eliminated a few things admittedly not knowing what I was doing, saved the settings and tried again. It worked (it's blue though and I'm not touching it).Now if my mind worked like a computer I would have had an error message of some sort. Now as computers could use a wing-it button,I could probably use a defrag.
Imagine your computer just sitting there spewing data up on the screen at random.Bits and pieces of past input flashing on the screen without clicking on an icon or typing in a command while 10 other processes are running in the background. What's that all about. If my computer acted like this it would be broken.Nueral transmitters, nodes, sectors, lobes, cylinders,it's nuts and I love it.
Some scheduled events run when needed, programmed in by habit.I seem to have a program called song of the day where I am treated to some song I've heard at some time in my life be it a commercial jingle or Broadway musical(ever wonder what would happen if life was like a musical, you know where everything you say you'd sing instead,I have wondered and have actually tried this on occasion at home and it work. It's lost on most people probably wouldn't be lost on a certain 10% though).I'm broken I tell you.And I love it.

Large Marge sounds delightful, hope all works out for you and her. Unfortunately, we lost our chance at BJ. But nevertheless, we are now scouting to find another who needs a home.
I am such a softy when it comes to animals!

little creatures scurry by
I roll my eyes around
and then the skin kids tip toe by
trying not to make a sound

but mom all ready knows what's up
someone has escaped again
it probably was 50..50..crawling up
and out of his snakey pen

then the frog he jumps out
and everyone's on the trot
cause he can jump high and quickly out
wetting each and every spot

and then there's millie who runs so fast
and thinks we're having fun
running full speed and much too fast
hmm, I'm too old and overdone

But chasing kids and animals
is not really such a feat
and I wouldnt have it any other way
cause they're mine and all really neat!

Or what's a little more salt water.
Well, I love salt water but not when it is in the form of tears especially when they are exiting from my childs eyes. The underwater tea is today(parents go to the school and you know) and one of the shark's
fins(from an earlier comment you may recall)fell off.To the rescue, pesky day job can wait.On the way home in the van the shark lost his tail, effecting a crazy glue repair resulted in the loss of the other fin.Crazy glue,no good.Alright, never let em' see you sweat, right(more brine, sheeesh).Okay you wanna play huh?OK, we gonna play.We gonna play with my little friend (bondo-car autobody filler for all you computer programmers).I mixed up some bondo and cut some screen from the front screen door to reinforce the body filler repair and was able to duplicate the clay color pretty well.Overkill?,no way.I will go to the tea a little early today shark in hand and put it amongst the other sea creatures.Whew!

Hi Herb,
I'm a small bit poemed out at the moment and am quite content to just converse if you don't mind.I get the feeling we are traveling a somewhat parallel course in what we are doing.I have been developing a product for a little over a year and I will put it up on the web to sell it one of these days.I have some items being made now as a matter of fact.Just last night I was turned down on my trademark for the name. I don't like getting notices on a friday after the office is closed when I can't address it while it is on my mind. But this will give me some time to mount an att.....excuse me.....try to negotiate something.
The examining attorney's name is Caroline and that is my daughter name so that will be fair game. They will see me as trademark applicant # xxx xxxxxx xx but I will overcome that in short order,I will be then dealing as Rob.I have so many times reasoned with people and enlisted their help and support along the way.Got them on my side so to speak.Like my little poem thing everything seems to be linked to how one presents oneself and their ideas. It doesn't always work but it can give you an edge.I somewhat enjoy the game because it is getting easier to play and results have been in an upward trend.
I love companies that convert their waste products into other products, thereby increasing the bottom line.I try to do that with my day to day dealings.I find my style of wit, reasoning and glibness is easily converted into bullshit when necessary.I don't have to use it but it's nice to know it's there.
I seem to be really chatty these days and I'm going to pull my own plug and just say welcome and I'll be over to see you and I will get that link up and thank you.
Enjoy your day

Sure you deserve it!You are doing some great things. When I was your age I wasn't doing anything like you are.I wasn't totally unproductive or anything but well,it'll be beyond the scope of this comment. Some of the people here like Anna Banana and MiKe are even younger and seem to have tremendous processesing power( need a little more programming however)and a whole lot of potential.I used to see a sign at a local establishment that read "hire a teenager, while they still know everything" that pretty much sums that up.I do hope they don't drive themselves nuts though.
I like computers and technology.I admire programmers for understanding a new language just as if it were a foreign tongue.I would like to be able to understand it but I can't do everything(heck,I wish I could star in a Broadway musical but I can't sing).
Programmers use a little trick called shared libraries where they resuse portions of code and introduce them into new applications as a package so as not to have to write so many lines. Some of the reasons I like to speak on the phone are in the comment I left for Herb.

Some people refer to being "from the old school" truth be told "I am from the no school" after high school ,I,in typical teenage fashion "knew everything" and decided to go to work.I worked at various jobs and attended night classes in what I've termed "The College of the Cosmos".Tuition was extremely high and how I survived is beyond me.I am a lifetime member, both student and teacher and guidance counselor. The learning is ongoing and I thank everyone that has been participating in this blog in that I am now learning from you.I hope that it can be symbiotic in nature as things should be in nature.I'm sure everyone is aware of what happens when things aren't mutually beneficial,we see what is happening in the world today.Read your own last post as I would like to include that as a shared library. No need to rewrite that.
To sum it all up, the phone thing is just my way of letting people know I'm real.I breath in and out.I'm alive, your alive, otherwise a computer could be writing this, albeit probably that broken one I described earlier.
I dropped off some clothing to be embroidered not long ago and had had phone conversations with the woman who takes the artwork and digitizes it so as the machine will know where to put the stitches. We got along well.We laughed alot on the phone and exchanged ideas and we both started to wonder what each other looked like.I went there as I said and we didn't look anything like we had imagined. She helped me tweak the design and I stayed there for over two hours and talked about so many different things. We actually laughed, I can't get a feel for typing LOL I like to feel my eyes crinkle and all the associated movements that go along with it.Established much common ground and it was just an enjoyable afternoon.I called her and pointed her to this blog and she loved it.I have a new friend and she's a nice lady. This is how I want to finish out the rest of my life,in fact I'm insisting on it.(not the phone thing that's up to you I understand the concerns over that, believe me) but now you have I hope by now of who I am and what I'm about.

I love analogies and I used to love to watch football and the magic when there was not much time left on the clock and my team was down by a bunch but the team was of the caliber that you could never ever count them out. They step up not appearing rattled throw the quick strikes and execute a flawless game winning effort.I am somewhere in the third quarter( statistically speaking)I am behind,it is slightly different in the fact that I really don't know how much time is on the clock.I am confident and I can't be counted out, I can win or I can at least try my best.Everything I do from a couple of years ago till the end of the game will constitute my best effort.I am excited and my adrenaline is pumping.I'm going to see what I got.

It's the reason why I started this blog in the manner I did.It is an outstretched hand to people all over the world and that I, have dropped my weapons and lowered my shields.Someone always has to make the first move and one takes a chance by doing so.I would like to be one of those people,I am no longer afraid of anything, there is too much at stake.I don't see what choice I have.I have to try,at least try to make the world a better place. And you know why.

Am I a unit or what?

Hi Inky,
One often wonders what will happen when he or she spills out their heart in this world.I think we can all fill in the blanks with that one. It's important though to extinguish this insecurity as it is just too unproductive. We are all that we have,we are all important,no one is any better than anyone else,we all need to be uplfted and told we are important.
I believe I am on a certain path and the way it all worked out it seems you were right there on the same path, right beside me.Your recent posts prove that. What if I never looked across to see you there?
I just want to be less judgemental of people it is another waste of time.I don't want to waste anymore time doing things that don't really make sense.I'm really glad I met you.Could you e-mail me at robm@toast.net.And this goes for anybody who would like to e-mail me.I don't want anyone to feel excluded

Poemster Sermon

I've added some new sites to the Portal.
I see some of you have left comments on others blogs and encourage even more of that, here's why.
This site in and of itself would be nothing if not for the people who have come here and agreed to be linked to it.We are all pulling our share, willingly it makes it easy and I am truly enjoying your company. This site is no longer about me it is about us.I am going to do my best to pass the flow through here into your sites.I believe in what you're doing,I hope you know that.I am fascinated with the different ways your all doing it.I am not a terribly organized person and I find I leave a lot of things out but oh well.I know this format bears some looking into and you may have some ideas to make it better but the key thing is I plan to get more people involved and I want a newcomer to read every comment as it arrived without getting lost in archives.I just think it is important.Somewhere along the way it became more than a silly little poeming thing.Historians will want to poke and pry it apart and argue amongst themselves
where this occured.I'll however just accept the fact that it happened and be grateful to all of you.

I have put up a few new links and just want to point that out.I have not yet read all you have posted so I will try to catch up.There's alot out there. If you go to someones site even if you don't have a full fledged comment leave a note saying you stopped by so somebody knows you were there.I guaranty it will make a difference.Remember that was the poemsters M.O..
Changing those zero's to ones.

I think The Poemster loves me back.
In a purely platonic sort of way
Which is good because otherwise it'd be kind of wierd
Since I'm seventeen and he's...older than that
This poem almost rhymes
So I'll have to mess up the rythm
So it doesn't have one anymore.

I'm really not worried give me an hour with them and I'll have them thinking straight and I'll send them a bill to boot.I'll tell I'll link to them or something.Actually now that I'm thinking about it if there is a phsyciatrist in the house.

Blogger Zerosleep said...

wow...miss reading the comments for a couple days and it gets all lengthy. no rhymes here, too tired. worked 40+ hours over the last four days and i'm not off until saturday. overtime is nice and all, but my legs are just beat.
so, what kinda Q+A?

11:35 PM
Blogger rob said...

Hey PB,
Some of the new stuff is longer so you have to read them faster in order to get in and out, you know.I might suggest one of those Evelyn Wood spead reading courses after you finish up with overtime and all, you'll have some extra money.Maybe I'll do some streaming audio,I talk pretty fast.
Has anybody ever seen that movie "Night Shift"?It stars Henry Winkler and Michael Keaton, now Michael Keaton is great in my view but in this movie he's a real cornball (I can relate to cornball in case you haven't guessed) and he tells Winkler ( a fellow employee at a morgue)that he is "just an idea man" "he doesn't actually implement any of this stuff".Implying that his job was over and now somebody else had to do the work.Other than that part I had no use for the movie.
I've been concentrating on the follow through part now for reasons descrbed above.
A Q and A is where you ask a question (deemed appropriate by me of course)about the poemster and I answer it.
I had a call for more blogging and then some poetry so I'm doing it.I'm starting to think that everything rhymes.

Today song of the day and shared library is:
Jackson Browne -I'm Alive(cd name)-Sky,blue and black.
From the minute the piano starts in you know got something here. The arrangement is exceptional and the lyrics are poetic and inciteful.Everything is so well timed.I find myself playing this one repetitiously to discover the nuances that are placed in it.
Anybody wanting to add the poetry of any songs they like, please do.I personally would like to expand this horizon.

Hi scoobydubious,
Boabhan Sith, yes I have sometheing for you.14 years ago I had a bar in Connecticut called The Blue Note and she came in one night. She ordered a bloody mary and said her name was Bobby Smith. She had long dark hair and didn't really smile much. She was one of first women I've ever seen that wore the kind of make-up and lipstick that you see is so popular today. We got to talking and she was cute and kind of sexy so I thought, well, lets just say I got the idea she wanted some input too.She reached into her purse to get a cigarette and her license fell out and I could see her real name was Boabhan Sith.I get a little leary when someone lies about their name so I didn't persue it any further. If she had just told me the truth I wouldn't have cared. We used to get a lot of vampiresses, specially on the full moon.Word got around that I made the best bloody mary around.
I never saw her again.Hope that helps.

So glad to see you well
Overcome and completely silent now
With heaven's help
You cast your demons out
And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you off your cloud
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're planning to go about
Making your amends to the dead
To the dead

Recall the deeds as if
They're all someone else's
Atrocious stories
Now you stand reborn before us all
So glad to see you well

And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you to the ground
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're planning to go about
Making your amends to the dead
To the dead

With your halo slipping down
Your halo slipping
Your halo slipping down
Your halo slipping down
Your halo slipping down

Your halo slipping down to choke you now

The Goose Story

Next fall when you see geese heading south for the winter flying along in a "V" formation you might be interested in knowing what science has discovered about why they fly that way.

It has been learned that as each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a V formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. (People who share common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.)

Whenever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone, and quickly gets into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front.(If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed the same way we are going.)

When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point. (It pays to take turns doing hard jobs.)

The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. (An encouraging word goes a long way.)

Finally, when a goose gets sick, or is wounded by a gun shot, and falls out, two geese fall out of formation and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead and they launch out on their own or with another formation to catch up with the group. (If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other like that.)

i've heard that story before nic, but still, i liked it then and now. very nice.

and no, rob, the song really has nothing to do with the title. the title was a reference to my "halo" in the sense of personal behavior. one of our classes had us define a personal goal and keep a weekly journal of our progress. mine was to try and be more patient with others, as i tend to have a short fuse and a tendency to run over those who don't go fast enough to stay out of the way, like a couple class partners i've had. it wasn't long into the project that the self imposed halo started slipping. somehow, it's still hanging on down here, but here, i get paid to deal with morons, so it's easier. once i go back to classes in a couple months, it's a lot harder to justify being patient with someone who slows me down with the amount of money i'm paying to be there. that's about the time the halo comes off and gets used to choke someone with.

We are comprised of about 40% US and 40% UK and 20% misc(not meant to diminish or marginalize ruffle anyones feathers)so I think we might have a need for an english to english translation dictionary. For example in a purely hypothetical situation:
If I said "someone who lives in my house is pissed" I wouldn't mean they were drunk".I would mean they were upset. So:
pissed(US)=angry
pissed(UK)=drunk
OK so thats one example, if anybody has more that they want to post we can compile it print it up so as to better understand each other.

I wanted to put some of the lyrics up from Sky,Blue and Black

In the calling out to one another
Of the lovers up and down the strand
In the sound of the waves and the cries
Of the seagulls circling the sand
In the fragments of the songs
Carried down the wind from some radio
In the murmuring of the city in the distance
Ominous and low

I hear the sound of the world where we played
And the far to simple beauty
Of the promises we made

If you ever need holding
Call my name,I'll be there
If you ever need holding
And no holding back,I'll see you through
Sky blue and black

Where the touch of the lover ends
And the soul of the friend begins
There's a need to be separate and a need to be one
And a struggle neither wins
Where you gave me the world I was in
And a place I could make a stand
I could never see how you doubted me
When I let go of your hand

Yeah, and I was much younger then
And I must have thought that I would know
If things were going to end

And the heavens were rolling
Like a wheel on a track
And our sky was unfolding
And it will never fold back
Sky blue and black

Alright,it's lunchtime and I am going to eat and post at the same time.I have a problem and I would like start out with a clean slate and your help. This afternoon I am thinking about taking part in mass destruction. The potato bugs are laying eggs on my tomato plants, every year it's the same thing. But I am allowing myself to question the procedures that I normally take to stop them from killing the plants.I don't want to assume it is OK to kill them. Also if it's not OK to kill them is it OK to kill all the eggs they have layed on the undersides of the leaves? These eggs are going to be the biggest problem because the larvae that hatch do 98% of the destruction.I believe everyone has their own tolerance for destruction(maybe even taking antibiotics is a form of killing,I'm really not sure).I believe this because of the empirical evidence that supports it.
I think it might be a good excersize and will qualify for College credits.
If we are a little community here lets stretch that and say we are a society and see if we can build a consesus to establish some laws and method enforcement and penalties. Also what percent for a majority to enact such a law would be required.
I wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone is interested in it.I don't want it to have specific political persuation overtones this is a purely personal excersize.
So what should I do?
the_poemster reserves the right to take things stand them on their head, turn them inside out shake the living shit out of them and generally disregard any prior "expert opinion" from some overpaid asshole who holds an inane position at some institute that would be put to better use if it were transformed into a pinwheel factory.
And yes the_poemster will perform a self examination of his own rectal cavity for any offending activity from said bugs.
Thank You

Oh man,you don't know what I gotta go through.I get back to the bugs and Debra says she bought some insecticidal soap to deal with the bugs.I told her "I don't want to give the damn things a bath,I want to kill them".She doesn't like using poisons.I used poison one time for a whole year and it saved my life I told her.Poisons are a necessary thing sometimes, highly desirable in fact. Can't be open minded enough!
Oh,I know your thinking "what the hell are potato bugs doing eating the tomato plants".I just want to say when there is something I do not know I will tell you so "I don't know".

12:57 PM

I went to examine the situation a little closer and I want to tell you it's all over.I killed them all. With my bare hands I squished the eggs and the adults when I saw that they were having sex and laying eggs on my plants in broad daylight,no less.Heathens!
Now, while I still have these rubber gloves on.

I wish to correct the preceding statement as it contained an inconsistency that I would like to clear up.I did not use "bare hands" I did have surgical style white latex rubber gloves seen in doctors offices everywhere. You cannot be too careful these days with those bodily fluids, if a disease decided to "jump" from potato bugs to humans the results could be disasterousI practice safe bug killing!

Blogger rob said...

Hi scoobydubious,
I've not abandoned your poem.I have a workshop in which I use to build projects of all kinds, mostly out of wood but also stone and marble. There are some projects that I am working on that are in various stages of completion.I am not known for my speed never have been.I am not known for my organization skills.I sense that you are very organized,I think one would have to be in order to accomplish what you are taking on.Yet you find the time to write so beautifully. Some people are naturally born to do certain things. They are the truly talented people I have so much respect and admiration for. These are the people I wish to learn from and to emulate.I always want to be in a position of learning.I am not naturally born to excel at anything, however I consider my forte to be well-roundedness.I am inquisitive and willing to try new things,in fact it drives me.I wouldn't mind being Robinson Carusoe if you catch my drift.Give me some problems to solve and I'm happy. When I was young I used to love to play basketball. If I played with people of lesser skills I played underpar. If I played with people of superior skills I played better and learned along the way.Sometimes just living life alone will make you better when you return to a specific task.I am playing now with people who are better than me,herein lies the rub,I strive to impart a piece of my soul into the things I do.One day I'll show some pics of the work I've done inside peoples homes.I try to create a space that not only looks good but has a certain "feel".When I achieve this then I am truly rewarded.I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about however not all people know or care about this.I can't not care.I don't like to "settle" or say it's "good enough".
Your poem is on my other workbench in various pieces and I know I have a discerning client.I will need to rise to the occasion and pull out all stops and try to thrill and amaze myself before I hand over the keys to you.
I do want to thank you for you kind comments and will admit that I was a little down and was ready to "pull my plug" if I thought I had failed anyone. If you remember I feel I create 98% of my own proplems so I can tend to be a little hard on myself.I am most times my own biggest critic and I don't mind this arrangement at all because I trust myself.
I am happy that everyone seems to like what I'm doing here.It is just another space I've created that I want to have that "feel" as in my tangible spaces.I do feel a reverberation of good feelings,I don't know how,but I do.We are dealing with thoughts and souls here and I feel people are reaching me on a level I don't understand yet.No amount of thinking will help here and I will wait for the inevitable "feel" that will explain(not in words)this happening.
Do not despair
It means that I care
To take the time
To compose your rhyme
(interrum poem)

It's hard to believe you don't think you're just as good if not better than some of us in writting. I think your words are beautiful and yet I understand how we can be so hard on ourselves when others see a beauty we cannnot or dare not see. Maybe our subconsciense mind won't allow for us to get a swelled head? LOL...or maybe I'm just obsessive compullsive, hehehe. Take you time
compose your rhyme
I will be just as happy to wait
I have much time
I can wait for a rhyme
So don't worry about being late!

Well,I'm in a town that was right next to the one I grew up in.They are now cities. It is Norwalk,CT. and I grew up in Stamford. The housing market is and has been booming.Small houses sell for 300,000.00 and up.Housing is dense and they need more so the build condo complexes. The roads are empty this morning but I know what happens during the week to these same roads and it just lends to the frustration of everyday life.Small town life has it's benefits.
I took a ride to a place called calf pasture beach in Norwalk this morning because I was up early and I wanted to grab a coffee(to drink) and ride around. On the ride down I bought that Dar Williams cd.It was a live recording and I usually will tend to buy live cd's when I can.The day is sunny and beautiful and I had the window down and I was using the song as a tool to try to in effect get closer to someone an ocean away.To see things in a different way or more appropriately "feel" a different way.It really is a beautiful song and the "excersize was enlightening and fun.
On the way to the beach is a straight away that must be a little over a half mile long.I used to collect speeding tickets on this stretch of road some 30 years ago.At the end of the stretch is a little guard house and there were two young girls attending the gate to make sure you have proof of residency for the town.I stopped at the gate and was asked if I was a resident of Norwalk.I replied no I'm from Vermont now but when I was their age I used to live in Stamford and would come down here in my hot rod camaro trying to be cool and cruise the beach trying to impress girls like themselves. They let me through and I made the circuit this time in a subaru wagon listening to Dar thinking about Inky in Cornwall by shore, and all of you wherever and whatever you may be doing.
I also made a promise to esse that I would take her along with me and I tried to send comfort for her.I want to take away the hurt she is feeling as on a day like today things are far too nice for me.I just wish I could.
Bye all,
Rob

It sounds like you are having way too much fun. You must admire the scenery. I find I do alot as well. Out here in red-man's land though, there isn't any kind of ocean to look at, but oh what there is. I don't think you've ever lived until you've seen a sun rise or set over our amber soil. It's quite remarkable, really. I found myself watching the sun rise this morning and nearly missed my morning class. Some times it's just necessary to stop and smell the roses. It amazes me that we can all feel apart of one another through something as simple as a sun rise. I have a friend who dances and he travels the world. We've been best friends sense pre-school. We used to watch the sun rise and set often. I know he still does and we still keep in touch even when he's going from Japan to NY to Italy. Doesn't it just fill you with a special feeling of that bond, that closeness? It's so hard to explain in words. I guess I was just missing my friend this morning as I watched the sun in all of its glory rise above our beautiful amber soil.

Hi esse,
I think only you can answer wether or not to try.It will be a learning experience if you do decide to try regardless of the outcome.Persistance may be required.During my drive-by poemings I noticed two writers that had endeavored to get published and their blogs were actual accounts of the attempt. From what I gathered from those blogs it seems it is real hard to get published.I'll see if I can dig up the sites but it might have been a little too long ago. They actually got rejection letters but they did not seem daunted enough to give up.I also have heard radio shows talk about the difficulty in getting published. On the plus side I have heard of bloggers that have gotten book deals so you never know.If I run across anything of value that might help you I will let you know.
Also,if there is anything you need don't hesitate to ask.I am not a writer so my say will be limited.I am however creative so I wouldn't count me out for a new and different approach.I would encourage the writers in this group to also help you with anything they might know.

Hey,
I'm working on a story of my own...if you find out anything usefull as far as getting published...pass it this way as well. If you need any help with ideas or...just whatever, I'll be more than happy to help. I actually have just a tiny piece of my prologue up on my website: Something to sink you teeth into. I think that's the title of the post...I know, it's pretty bad when I can't remember my own post names. I'm going to use the excuse: I'm in school and am running out of room in my head. Hehehe. Good luck, though. Maybe we can brain storm, share ideas.

I never thought I would say this, but I don't have anything of importance to impart on this night of review. I just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone and let ya'll know I keep you in my prayers and thoughts. This is an amazing thing, this blog. Somehow we've managed to form a bond of friendship, although most of us if not all have never met. Everyone of you is a blessing waiting to happen...and I have stumbled across it, or did it stumble across me?

Very kind words boabhan. I am thinking the same thoughts myself. It is not totally effortless however, it is because we are taking the time and the interest in each others lives and treating them with the respect they deserve. It seems to pay back to those that put in to it and what's better than that. Thanks again for the nice sentiments.I know you've put alot of effort into what your doing and that you like it.It really shows.

Hey all,

I completely agree. I think this blog is something amazing. It's a safe zone, a sanctuary to come to when the writing world is cruel. I'm glad I was poemed :D

My plans eh? Well ultimately, I want to be a highschool English teacher. I know, I'll be asking for trouble, but hey, life without trouble bites. I basically want to expose myself to the different levels of writing, age wise that is. I've already read elementary school poetry and stories, and really, I think kids today are way more mature than when I was kid. So i want to see the different levels, and now teenagers are next. After that, I want to start a magazine. Here in Vancouver there are a lot of writing based events, but I find they push away the amatuers. I want to make a common ground where everyone can meet. Kind of like this site.

I have a second actually third hand story I always remember esse.It was on a Harry Chapin anthology cd and it was about his grandfather who was a painter. He illustrated Robert Frost's first two books of poetry. And he talked about good tired and bad tired. He said "ironically a bad tired might be a day when you won,but you lived other people's goals, other people's dreams and when it was all over there was very little you in there." A good day might be a day that you lost, but you lived your goals and your dreams and when you hit the hay at night and you settle easy."
Then he said "Harry all my live I painted and I painted and I wished I had been more successful but I know I lived my dreams and fought my battles and I am good tired and I can close my eyes and they can take me away."
It then goes into "Remember When The Music" I listen and allow my eyes to tear up a little at the beauty of his statement and the song and just feel thankful for all of you wonderful people.

It seems there are elitists everywhere esse,in every kind of endeavor telling all that their way is the right way,the only way.Let them be, they can't learn much from their standpoint.I find many times in order to make themselves look better certain people try to cut others around them down instead of trying to reach common ground.I would say however it still makes sense to keep trying as long as you can just to satisfy your own self if nothing else. You can never go wrong trying to understand other points of view.
Would you do an online magazine and/or print.Magazines at least the ones I know of make a profit through advertisement alone. The cost to publish and sell a magazine actually is a negative return.Online is the future and is a good inexpensive way to start.I think I will start a separate section only for the art, free of all my nonsense. If you think that might be something to explore let me know. The same goes for all of you if you would like to explore some possibilities let me know you can put them here or collect them and put them on a new blog. All of our blogs can point to it.Anyway let's let this and esse's and boabhan sith's comment mark the official start of an intent to embrace and extend what we are doing(what you are doing)and keep in mind there is no harm in redundancy especially if it beauty we are duplicating.

I think an online magazine would be best. Only problem is i have absolutely no knowledge of anything when it comes to that!

I think a common ground is essential though. Not a place of judging or breaking people, just a place of discussion. If anyone participates with hostility, they can just turn around and leave. This isn't to say that debating is discouraged. Debates tend to bring up amazing points.

So it's worth looking into. I just need a little guidance :)

OK see if you can find a site that you think you would like to emulate as far as layout goes. Many times your ISP has included in your package webspace.I have 100 megs available in my plan for example.Think of a name for your site, that will be the domain name you will register.I registered with registerfly.com and you can check the availability of your chosen name there.Let me know how you make out with that. That's the easy part.

esse would like to start an online magazine for writing
and I think it's a great idea.It would showcase and promote writing. But alas the problem for me was always "the skies the limit" but that's not even true anymore. The possibilties are endless. So she needs to now take the preliminary steps (research). She has the name so she can check the availability and then if possible register the domain.Lots to do.

hey

i think i'm going to have to give up on the on-line magazine, and maybe even my blog

i don't think it's the best idea for me to keep recording moments i want to forget...

11:20 AM
Blogger boabhan sith said...

Don't give up your blog. Sometimes in our lives, the things we wish to forget are the very things we need to remember. That is...if we wish to keep history from repeating itself.
Believe me, I have kept a journal sense my highschool days and there are many moments that I choose not to think about. The thing is, if I don't look at them from time to time, I find that I tend to lean towards the same decisions. Good, bad, and ugly...they all make us who we are today. I have many faults, but I don't think I would change my past...though, sometimes I wonder 'what if.' I guess what I'm trying to say, is don't feel bad for the things that have happened in the past. They are the same things that have made you into the wonderful person we all know and love in the here and now.
